THE LORIS IS A VERY RARE SPECIES IN SRI LANKA , THIS TINY NOCTURNAL MAMMAL WEIGHS ONLY ABOUT 220 GRAMS AND THE FASCINATING THING IS ITS SLOW MOTION MOVEMENT. THE LORIS LIVES IN FORESTS ABOVE 1800 METERS FROM SEA LEVEL. THESE TWO PHOTOGRAPHS WERE TAKEN IN 1982 WHEN THIS LORIS VENTURED BOLDLY TO MY GARDEN, THIS CUTE WONDER OF NATURE WAS RELEASED AFTER THE PHOTO SHOOT. THE QUALITY OF THE FILM HAS DETERIORATED AFTER 28 YEARS. EQUIPMENT : OLYMPUS OM-10, YEAR : 1982.
This lories looks like the one recently photographed in Horton Plains called "Horton Plains slender lories" You are very fortunate to spot one and to take a photo of it as I understand this primate is very rear and in the brink of extintion. I heard one was spotted in 2002 after 60 years of search. Are you saying that that you have seen one in 1982? You may have to put the records right.
