Where there are animals, poaching is rampant, worldwide.
This gentle giant lost both its eyes to the cruel gunshots
of greedy poachers, greedy for its tusks. He now spends his
time in a dark world at the Pinnawela elephant orphanage,lack
of exercise has made him grow out of proportion and the
accumulation of neck fat is very conspicuous. He is taken to the
stream for bathing by two mahouts, walking on either side
shouting out commands and directions to keep him on the
right path. Being blind he never lifts his feet when walking
but drags them along the ground making a scraping sound.
