Kalkudah beach on the East coast of Sri Lanka, opened to tourism in 2012, the East coast, Nothern Province and the beaches of Kalpitia are now called the   ' other side of Sri Lanka '. Visitors to the Island have not seen the 

grandeur of this vast area [ two thirds of the coastline of the Island ] for the past thirty years.
