The most distinctive feature of the Torch ginger is its spectacular inflorescence, which resembles a flaming torch. These flower spikes emerge directly from the base of the plant on long, leafless stalks (peduncles). The vibrant "flower" is actually composed of colorful bracts, typically bright red or pink, that enclose the smaller, true flowers.
